Hi,

I understand there are differences in the early production units of the GlobalSat BT338 and the more recent production version (such as not starting up in the cold). Does anyone know how I can check which model I have?

Thanks,

Alex.

run SiRFdemo or other tools (APLSiRF on the PPC). They will tell yo the firmware version of the receiver.

I could be wrong, but you may have to switch the receiver into SIRF mode to see the version. If so, don't forget to set it back to NMEA mode if that was how it was originally set.

Generally all serial numbers from 000400 to 028000 inclusive were supplied with version 3.0.2 firmware and may need updating.

Units with serials outside this range or units with serial numbers beginning with AAW should already have version 3.1.1. firmware and will not need updating.

As has been stated above - using SirfDemo you can check the version supplied by switching the unit to sirf mode and seeing what it reports. As stated tho don't forget to switch it back to NMEA mode afterwards.
