she kept sending me to random roads and then kept saying turn round when poss ,i was screwed basically

even when going home to Somerset she still every so often said "turn left then turn right" and so on.
i updated the latest file the day b4 7 Feb,

An accusation of lying is a serious matter and for it you need evidence. Laughing

Like what "latest file" do you mean? You can't update the maps without paying.

It is not unusual for the said Jane to say turn left then turn right if these two manouvres are close together, for example if one junction is followed closely by another. As for telling you to turn round I put it to you sir that it was you that made the mistake by going down the wrong road, not her.

M'luds I rest my case. The file is not corrupt, it must be the user.

Laughing Laughing

(If the file was corrupt it wouldn't work. The map may be out of date)

if you position on the map was jumping round this wiuld indicate a very low sat signal so an extrernal arial could help. if on the way home to somerset the go was saying turn left or turn around then the go wanted to take you a different way home than the one you took of you had the previous destination still active as the route

it depends on which setting you had selected in the routing menu ie fastest would place a higher preference on fastest for ie the a303 where a shortest setting would use every little back road possible to get te shortest route this could have been the problem on the way home

Ahh I understand now. You were ignoring where she told you to go and going the way you wanted to go. And then you were surprised when she starting nagging you. Aren't you married??

Except, of course (especially in the case of Jane), when the application of good sense suggests otherwise.

Could be. But there's a serious point - summed up in "Don't disengage brain while using satnav".

F'rinstance, Jane always suggests a particular ("quickest") route to get me home when I'm within a mile or so of the house. And she's absolutely correct ("Women are always right") - nominally, it's the quickest route.

What Jane is unaware of is that the particular route is strewn with speed humps, which has two consequences - 1) it's no longer the quickest route, because you have to slow down for the humps and 2) driving over speed humps is not good for the car's tracking and suspension components.

Ergo, the application of good sense overules the advice in this (and probably lots of other) cases.

Looking forward to the flaming from Bo Peep - after all, a bloke wouldn't have lost his sheep. Just sold them to the nearest abbattoir.
