|
|
Evening all,
First time poster, be gentle. I picked up a Garmin i3 today. Tried downloading the speed camera POI but each time I point it at the Garmin folder it tells me that each csv file is "invalid".
Any tips? Do I have the correct files?
Thanks,
Adrian |

I use a Garmin iQue 3600.
As far as I know Garmin Mapsource on the PC requires .gpx files.
My unit uses the same. The .gpx files are available within the downloaded database!
.csv need to be converted with the POI converter by Richard Davies for Garmin.
My comment is based on the Garmin iQue and eMap which I use!
I may therefore be wrong. |

me too. Brand new i3 - cant upload a thing - apparently problem with 23/1/06 release of POI loader which is rather unfortunate timing for a keen newbie...
Any version 2.2.0 copies/links out there?

Spal123,
there is no real problem with POI loader.
What you need to do is open any files you are having trouble with in Notepad or Excel and delete the top row.
This will be a title row with something like "Name" ,"Latitude", "Longitude" in it.
Once this is removed you should be able to upload the files.
Alternatively you can put a ";" before the words - more details here http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=34592
Hope that is useful.
Nick. |
