I have an IPAQ 1710 with TOM TOM vers 4.440 (3230) it was part of the package when I purchased the IPAQ.

I want postcode search facility and am aware that an upgrade was available, however I am not sure what version to get can anyone advise me on the software required for the IPAQ 1710.

That would be TT Navigator 5.
I believe the upgrade period has ended. A next one is expected in May/June.
You could contact TT Support to see if you still can get a discounted upgrade.
