From what I could see on E-Bay, it looks like its a giant (12Mb) POI file. So it is likely to work, but I can't see it being any better than the 5 digit search we already have. |

From the size I would say that it was the same data that was listed on this website. It was removed, due to legal pressure from the Ordance Survey.
It probably is the same data that has resurfaced and, as such, is still illegal. _________________ Richard

Hi Berty,
Yes it does work, if it is the files that i bought advertised for the TomTom and navman(£2.49 P&P free) as you get a link and password to poisoft.
I got mine a few weeks ago, it does take some time to put the files on the navman using the poiedit. I had to purchase a 256mb card to get it all on. it goes in the My poi folder.
The only problem I found was that my saftey cam poi did not give an audible alert with all the files loaded, as you are only allowed 25 my poi files on the 510, and as I had split the files into several smaller ones for easier loading it caused the problem.
I am now reloading them as larger files to overcome the problem.
In my opion itdoes make the 510 a better unit as I now goto my poi's type in the full seven digit postcode and it comes up with the full address and navigates me there. None of the five digit problems of giving you several different destinations to choose from.
Hope this long winded reply has helped. |

Hey guys.
I had an e-mail from Navman 2 days ago telling me that a 7 digit postcode facility will be available with the next SmartST 2006 upgrade, but not till June.
So maybe we won't have to waste our POI's on postcodes anymore. :D
My POI's are at a premium anyway, as I can only get the first 16 working as 'active' for my cameras.
