Hi all,

Nice job Ash10, did notice though that the ball is quite flush with the dash
does this mean that the i3 is square on, or can you twist it towards you a bit. Also were do your cables come out or do you run on the batterries?.

I have a couple of spare switch covers! on my dash I could use but need to run a cable for the arial and power lead.

Looks pretty good though and neat.

Regards....Dilwyn

There's about +/-30 degrees freedom of movement - any more and I accidently either change the clock or switch the hazards on! Laughing

But that's plenty of adjustment for me - as I look down to the i3 it's completely facing me Smile

The power cable just drops down to the fag-lighter below (which is why I'm tying to source a curly/coiled one). I don't want to conceal the cable as I regularly switch between two cars...

I'm using the built-in antenna, seem to still get 4 or 5 green bars on the signal strength indicator - that's with a standard non-athermic windscreen and no sunroof.

I think it's been pointed out before that 9/16 is around 14.3mm, too small for the i3.

Got my custom Ram to i3 adaptor from Mr G on Saturday morning. Whilst the Ram adaptor was expensive (compared to a theoretical solution from Ram if the correct size balls were available) it looks great and works even better. I'll post a picture soon.

Interesting. What's the second lead? Is that for an audio output socket that you've added?
