Advantages:
It's a fully featured PocketPC and can do everything a PocketPC can do, not that I had much use for it when I had one but the smaller size might prove decisive.
It's got a bigger screen than my Nokia so would be easier to look at in the car.
Disadvantages:
Compared with a smartphone it's still quite large.
Would need to buy all new charger cables, not to mention new TomTom software.
Some reviews say the phone audio quality is poor.
Does it have any hands free features? |
Disadvantages
1 Wider, deeper & heavier. Touch screen (easy to re-route on the move) & keyboard come at a trade off.
2 Mini USB car charger <£5 eBay, vent phone holder <£10 Halfords. TT wouldn't this be same whatever?
3 Phone speaker not as good as my old Nokias but stereo speakerphone is loud & clear.
4 Cabled in box, BT compatable. I just swicth to speakerphone & yell
5 Forgot to mention, while the 1.3MP camera is good in daylight, the flash illumination is possibly the worse I have used. A drag on a decent cigar will put out more Lux.
Should this be moved? starting to look like a Hijack |

was thinking the same thing myself surprised its stayed here this long!
mark, regarding the hands free features it works very well.voice dialling is a vast improvement from my old c500 the xda never seems to get it wrong where as before if you had 2 names that sounded similer you had to watch who it was dialling.
The application voice activation also works a treat.
I would also say that call quality is probably down a bit but 90% of the time i use bt headset and that is very clear. |

Hi, I'm not quite sure which section to post my problem.
I have an XDA mini II & iTrek bt gps receiver. i'm thinking of using vito or gpsinfo to make sure my hardwares work.
The mini i bought from a phone company here in Australia. I haven't installed smartst on the mini yet because I wanted to make sure the gps receiver talks ok with my hardware.
I pair the 2 devices ok but when it's time to configure the outgoing and incoming com ports, there are no ports available from the drop-down selection. I've contact O2 and the phone company I bought it from and they're both pointing me to each other.
Does anyone know a work around for this? Is there an *.ini file I can adjust to make the ports show up? _________________ __________________________

I followed this forum to find a solution to similar problem I am having regarding the maps.
I have TT Nav 5, I have installed the update. The problem I am having is that when I go through the initial settings after install it locks up at Select Map. My maps are displayed in the menu.
I took the suggestion of installing the maps on the card via the active sync, that didn't work either.
Any help would be appreciated Thanks |
