Can anyone tell me how to rotate the screen using Navigator 5.201 on a Treo 650. The instructions show an icon for doing this under perferences, but it is not available on the product. Thanks. |

On my T3 the rotation is done by the Palm OS, not inside the TTN. _________________ Lutz

Treeo 650 is 320x320 display (ie square), right?
Maybe Tomtom doesn't bother with a rotate function because it knows the screen is square and there is no obvious advantage in doing so.
So, ignoring the question of why one would want to rotate it...you could try an app called Rotation 1.2.3 (http://mobile-stream.com/landscape_info.html).
I don't know if it works on a Treo, but it costs nothing to try. |

Thanks for the help. The Treo system doesn't allow for rotating the screen. Thats probably because it is a square screen. I travel a lot in rental cars and need to set the device down on the dash or center console where I can glance at it now and again. The Treo, being upright and with a curved bottom, will tip over frequently. I thought rotating the screen would allow me to set it on the side and resolve the tipping problem. I may try the Rotate 1.2.3 but I suspect that would rotate the phone and all the other applications also. |

Looking at the app pic on the mobile-stream website, it looks like you can pick which apps to rotate...just pick Navigator (might appear listed as "Start" coz that is what the proggie file is called) to rotate and leave the rest.
Free to try, so give it a go. Hope it solves your problem - and yes, I concede that yours is a very sensible and legitimate need - I hadn't thought of that before... :D |
