|
|
Hi there
I have for a while used my PDA with Tom Tom and have the suite of Euro maps (cds) I have just been given a TT1 for xmas, is it possible to copy the country files over on to a sd card and will they work or are the map files diffrent to the PDA version?
Any advice gratefully appreciated!

If you have loaded the maps onto the pda and activated them you won't get another activation code from TomTom for use on another device.
If you haven't activated them yet they should work if thy are for TT5 Navigator. _________________ TTGO 700 (dead)

I just moved the country files off my iPaq onto my N70 and they work fine after reactivation. I imagine the same thing would work for the One. _________________ Kam |

What memory card does the N70 use, please? Also what size card do you have and where from? _________________ Tim |

The N70 uses DV RS MMC (Dual Voltage Reduced Size MMC). I got a Kingston 512mb one off eBay for £25.85 including shipping from Hong Kong, insurance, etc. 1Gb cards should be available soon. _________________ Kam |

Cheers, same as my N90, then. I've seen Kingston 1Gb cards from aUK e-tailer for £50. Another hammering for the Mastercard, I guess. _________________ Tim |

The maps should work fine. Going from TT on a PDA to TT1 is just a change of device as far as TomTom are concerned and you can do that once every 6 months without special approval. |

SO if I get a HUGE sd card and copy say all of France/UK & Spain on to this sd card will I be able to travel say from London to Madrid without having to change the card etc.. I dont think the one model can select maps or can it?
Otherwise I guess I need a sd card for each country I travel to...? |

I got most of the single country maps of western Europe onto a 1GB card (only Italy and Scandinavia missing). When I next go to Italy I will swap it out for the Spanish map. _________________ TTGO 700 (dead)
