Blimey...it goes on and on and on. £2 a shot for the once or twice I require seems a pretty good deal, but, that wasn't what I wanted to say...and this might not be the place to raise it, but, I didn't realise you had to send an email in with any camera changes ? Is that right ? Up 'till now I've been hitting the 'save POI' button etc. and assumed that something then goes on behind the scenes...not right ?
Update format
--------------------
If you are emailing updates in text format, as opposed to attaching TomTom overlays (*.OV2), then entries in the following format will be appreciated.
Longitude,Latitude,Name:m@nn,"Information #AA" where Longitude and Latitude are in decimal degrees if possible (but any format will be accepted)
Name is your surname, m is a unique id (1,2,3,...) or existing camera ID, nn is the speed zone (30,40,...)
Information is explanatory text
#AA denotes camera type (#G Gatso, #GT Truvelo, #R Red light, #M Mobile, #S S.P.E.C.S, #T Temporary/Roadworks)
For example
-0.12345,51.23456,Davies:1@40,"A325 Farnborough Road. Northbound #G"
GATSO:1234,"Does not exist"
GATSO:3456,"Redlight camera. On A325 #R"
--------------------
We are interested in all fixed Gatsos (grey/yellow boxes), gantry speed cameras (eg M25), Truvelo, Frequent Mobile Speed Traps, S.P.E.C.S Cameras and Temporary/Roadwork Cameras. Please do not list an accident blackspot unless there are frequent mobile speed cameras at that location.
With the release of apps such as POICapture we have already seen a rise in submissions, the implementation of an on-line submission system is very nearly ready and this too will simpligy the reporting process.
Any news on when the POI Capture will be compatible with new TomTom machines i.e. those running V 2.420 or later?
I have two such machines (a ONE and a Rider) and can't use your POI program in either

Just to clarify... It's NOT the add-on software writers' fault!
Any add-ons depend on the "Software Developers' Kit" which TomTom released and SOLD to these designers. Not long after, TT started to release new versions of software which didn't work with their own SDK, and they have never released an updated SDK.
So, until they do, everyone's hands are tied....
AND:
When I posted the above on the MyTomTomGo forum, "Julf" replied (and I hope he doesn't mind me quoting him)
Quote:
And interestingly, when I complained about this to TomTom, I got the response:
"Our SDK is up to date with our latest navigation software.
If you bought the SDK then you will receive free updates
when available. With the future releases of our navigation
software there will also be a SDK update."
When I pointed out that at least the first statement is not true, I got no response.
So there you go, TomTom not doing too well on the customer service again :x

Compared to the price to get the same information from TomTom directly via its plus service, a very fair price. I look forward to an improved service and more accurate database now that its on a more sound footing.
Will there be any discounts to us members who've already made donations via PayPal. I've seen this question asked a couple of time, but have seen no answer.
How much does it cost to become an FFOC member & how do I join?
To join the club there is a membership fee of:
# £20: This is the standard membership fee for 1 years exclusive FFOC membership.
Why is there a fee?
In order for the FFOC to improve its services to it's members it requires funding. Funding also helps with marketing, subsidising events and purchasing club merchandise.
There are FREE clubs on the net. But being a funded club, we can use membership money to improve the club.
End result - a fantastic resource for focus owners, and a very successful and popular club.
Cheers
Chris
Hmm, have you seen their churn rate? Or the pages and pages of in-fighting, debate etc about members questioning where their money goes, along with accusations of the 'Senior Management' team pocketing subs etc?

That's either called politics, or tabloid journalism. If there aren't two sides to an argument, just make one up. _________________ Ian
