In a bit of a dilemma, looking at getting a BT GPS for use with my IPAQ, but can't decide from these three:
HoluxGR-231 for AU$179ish
HOLUX GR-236 for AU$199ish
Globalsat BT-338 for AU$210ish

All of these are from ebay, but I can get the Globalsat BT-338 from a 'real' store here in Adelaide for $299, with an external antenna (seems to be the only difference I can see).

Also interested in this. Anyone have a feel for the best BT receiver at the moment? Is the Tomtom branded one worth the extra cash etc? Which chipset is best on the market and are the solar powered (assisted?) ones worth it?

Cheers!

Sirfstar III chipsets are supposed to give a far superior lock than the earlier IIe/LP chipsets. Pay a bit more and get the GPS based on the newer chipset.

http://www.gpspassion.com/ have some comparisons of the performance of the two chipsets.

Also consider battery life, though the manufacturers claims are often disconnected from reality...

Interesting, I have just put a similar post in the beginners section and have pretty much got the choice down to the same.

Mine being

Tomtom for compatability reasons
Globalsat 338
Holux 236

I'm looking for compatability with win mobile 5 and tomtom navigator 5.21 which seems to be a problem. Good signal and good battery life

Anyone any thoughts or suggestions as to which would be the best
