TravRoute have announced that their CoPilot Bluetooth GPS Receiver which is currently available in the USA will be immently released here in the UK and Europe. The new CoPilot BT GPS "delivers lightning-quick acquisition and eliminating the need for messy wires in your vehicle. The CoPilot Bluetooth GPS Receiver combines the benefits of CoPilot Live software with a wireless Bluetooth GPS receiver in the best-of-breed GPS solution for your Pocket PC" says Dan Popkin, European Director, TravRoute. CoPilot Bluetooth GPS now adds to the range of great GPS Receivers that TravRoute now ship with their latest CoPilot products and continues to add quick TTFF's and superb hardware to extend their product range.
We currently have a CoPilot Bluetooth GPS on our test bed putting it's through it's paces, and should be able to bring you more a little later.

This now adds to the current TravRoute harwdare to bring a good selection of GPS Hardware for CoPilot users.

Official response from TravRoute is that it's a different device and it has a different FCC id. Performance wise, very similar. |

Hi,
Quick question:
If you have already got say the 3870 or 3970..i.e with Bluetooth.
Does the Bluetooth GPS Receiver give any advantage over the none Bluetooth GPS Receiver?
Thanks

Yes. it's cable less so you don't have to mess around with cables dangling across your dashboard. Enhancements over Compact Flash for out walking is it has it's own battery source, so unlike Compact Flash, it's not draining the power of the Pocket PC. |
