I've had my TTGo 500 for only a few days, and decided to install the latest update and the Safety Camera POI from the TT website. All hunkydorey so far.
However, I've just completed a trip from Oxford to Birmingham, and all the way up, the voice (Jane IIRC) was ridiculously slow - have you ever seen 2001 when Hal starts singing "Daisy Daisy Give me your answer do..."? It was just like that. I wondered what was going on. Anyway, you couldn't tell what the voice commands were saying, so I just ignored them and looked at the onscreen instructions instead. I assumed, though I could be very wrong, that it was the update and the camera POI that had caused the problem.
On arival at my diestination, I disconnected the TT and hid it out of view. On return, I reconnected the TT and this time the voice was back to normal.
Any ideas what went wrong, and is this going to happen to me again? |

Hi
I have a 700 with the camera database and voice warnings plus POI Capture. I have not had your particular problem but I have had failure of the screen to change from night to day colours when the headlights are turned off, I have the permanent docking kit fitted. I have also had the speed cameras disappear from the maps.
Both problems have disappeared when the unit is switched off then on again. The night to day screen problem keeps happening and I have now unticked the "Link to lights" box in preferences. Annoying, reminds me of Microsoft software. |
