I've searched the web for this and even asked the TomTom helpdesk this question, but they didn't respond.
Is it possible to plan a route which has the starting point on a different map than the destination? I think it at least should be possible, but I haven't yet found out how.
Example: I want to plan a route from someplace in the Netherlands (Benelux map) to another place in Germany (Germany map), but when I open the Benelux map I *ofcourse* don't have any German cities listed and the same the other way around. And when I open the German map, look up the city I want to go to and then switch to the Benelux map the destination is lost.
All I need to know: is it possible and if so, how?

You can only cross frontiers using the Major Roads of Europe map, available on any of the Plus maps. (eg if you have Great Britain Plus you can drive right down through Europe as long as you stick to the major roads). But if you are using a street level map and you are not on a major road, you must load another map when you get to the edge of the one you are using. You can't have more than one map loaded at a time, so if it's not a Plus map you have to load another one when you get to the edge, and then route from your current position using the next map

Thank you, that was very helpfull. I think I'll just choose 2 places very close to eachother at the border, navigate to the main road there and then switch maps when I'm there. Maybe a feature tomtom might consider doing to be able to load one map plus the adres list of the other maps installed with automatic map changing. Bet they haven't thought of that :P
But well, it'll do, thanks for you reply anyways.

or use the Itinerary planner. That works global, so map independant. You can access it whatever map is loaded. You can only add points from the active map though.
But if you only have one destination, it's not a really useful feature, unless you have some common points on the map borders. _________________ GO1005
