Anyone else using the above combo ?
Getting no end of problems with mu Ipaq now refusing to recognise the Sandisk SD card that I have !
Got a work colleague who has the same set-up and his has also gone t*ts up as well ... he's using 'Pretec' & 'KingMax' SD cards !
HP have advised me to do a hard reset - which apart from clearing my machine of all installed software - done nothing else ! Still got the same problem !
Cheers

There are known issues with specific SD cards for compatibility issues, Sandisk appear to be one of the more problematic cards. I use Integral which are pretty good on the iPAQ's.
I have had the problem before where a card has been working perfectly okay for months on end, then suddenly it stops working but put it into other iPAQ's or card readers and it's fine, and a hard reset has cured the problem. Sometime's the Pocket PC's can get to a stage where they're completely confused and won't recognise insertion of any SD cards. Only recourse at this stage is to hard reset. |

check your firmware version of your PPC, sometimes causes problems with SD cards. I found that my Sandisk card went like this...I emailed Sandisk and they offered to replace it via the warranty. Not bad considering I bought it on eBay |

An equivalent update has been produced for the 3950/3955 running ROM 1.11 - which contains the same flawed SD drivers.
Download that one here.
Make sure you pick the right upgrade for your hardware - 395x or 397x and that you have the right ROM version installed before following the other instructions.

Hi
Had a similar problem in that the SD card was OK for a month or so before becoming unrecognised. Returned the IPAQ 3970 to HP, they replaced the motherboard FOC. Apparently there are some units out there with a known hardware defect.
Unit now works 100% for over 6 weeks. |
