so if the unit is based on the Rider internals then the unit will have some aspects of the RIDER in its OS. One of the other users has already seen this on his ONE after he was messing around with the data.chk file.

Anyone have an clues if this can be opened up and if so how we do it?

ONE is not based on Rider internals - they are both based on a common high quality automotive hardware platform.

so which ones are you talking about? The circuit boards give little clue to their manufacturer. see the FCC website for pictures.

the other guy saw more menus so that question still stands. there's more to this OS than is evident.

what's the use of opening up menus that you can't use anyway?
e.g. I don't want to see the option to connect the RIDER BT headset if I can't.

I'd be careful what you change and get your TT backed up before you do.

The menu options are probably hidden for good reasons - if the functionality was useable and stable I'm sure thry would have released it.

and why wouldn't you be able to use them?
the unit is BT compatable so likelyhood is that if the menu was there that the feature would work. Not that it may even be there anyhow but i would say that if they are they would work.

Why is everyone so negative ? Isn;t anyone curious. I suppose you never tweak you PC either and never put any POI's on the TT and stay with the standard ones. You won't buy CDs and still buy vinyl.

Negative is a bit strong - I think cautious is more appropriate. If the functionality was useful and/or stable it would have been included.

I agree it would be nice to find out IF there is something there but not at the expense of my system working. Let us know if you manage to uncover anything.

Oh............and just for the record I have the POI limit on my TT and an MP3 player. I don't own a video anymore or any vinyl records Wink

Have Fun.

no but i have now. Its only like the OSI. If the K6HS / K3CTP profile is in the unit for the other models then why wouldn't it be here. Thats if the OS is the same which it may be.......BTW i'm guessing the profiles used.

but again a problem with no mention of "it might work".....is everyone a pessimist these days. Its only been out a few weeks and everyones given up.

Fun,,,untill i bust it....
;-)

looking at this from a idiots perspective...(i'm not that bright) i may give up quite soon but the software i can play with is all on the card so i can't do too much damage. Already looking at replacing the maps with another country to see if the unit can be fooled to not activate. I suspect that the activation may sit internally to the TT in which case i'm stuffed.
