Looks like the map of the whole of Western Europe will soon be downloadable

Plenty of people. Why would I want broadband? (rhetorical) I don't do big downloads and don't spend a lot of time online. Out of my 3 friends that have PDAs & TomTom, only one has broadband. |

The tomtom one I purchased today has GB maps v605 - no indication as to what date these are produced to.
Looks like there are now multiply maps available for TTN5 which work all different builds and probably dates
(yes the TT one map does work with navigator 5)

Would someone with the new maps have a quick look to see if the Bingley Bypass is on it. This would give some indication as to how new the mapping data is at it only opened in 2003 (the standard TT5.x maps don't have it included).

There are a few things which need to be included in the maps.
A1 Haddington to Dunbar expressway
A1(M) Darrington to Dishforth
Various road changes around the Gateshead side of the Tyne Bridge. |

Silly question, but will the new map updates be locked to a specific device?
(Reason for asking: I currently have an XDAIIs, but an XDA Mini-S is appearing at some point soon and I may transfer TT5 over to the new device. It'd be annoying if I bought the new maps and then discovered I had to buy them again for my new device) |

I'm not sure they will be - I purchased a ONE yesterday and the maps which are later than the ttn5 release work on my pda without any problems.
I realise that I'm breaking the license but I only tried them to see if they worked and have now reverted back to the orginal GB plus map (the ONE map is GB only)
Think 40 quid on the new GB+ map maybe worthwhile if it comes with 12 months of updates.

Right. I'll wait for a few days before buying the new ones...
TT5 isn't specifically supported on the HTC Wizard (XDA Mini-S) anyway, so it may not work anyway. Hopefully I'll get it today and we'll see... ;-) |

I've looked on TomTom ONE and it looks as if your road is there. The map shows a dual carriageway running roughly southwards from an intersection with Keighley Rd as far as a filling station (Rankin), then as single carriageway past the station and a round a bend to the east, becoming dual carriageway again before it crosses Ferncliffe Rd. Is this correct?

I confirm it's not on GB Map v562, but it is on France Plus v632 which I've just bought.

About time! It had been open a long time even before TomTom5 was released. I guess I'll be upgrading my maps before I head back up that way then.
It now shows that Google maps are out of date. They still show the temporary terminus there. |

Perhaps thats why when you buy a map from the website you can download it for 12 months? I assume that means you can download *updates* for 12 months, not just the same map again and again. |
