ive got a tosh e740, and have had no problems with tomtom 2 or 3 using original tomtom bluetooth gps receiver.

Ive recently been given another e740 with tt5 on it. I noticed that the map/plotting is quicker in version 5.

Problem is, when i start driving, it's about 20 seconds behind me. It'll show me passing a road, which ive passed 20 seconds ish ago. When i come to a stop, it carries on going until it eventually reaches my position.

Any ideas?

Rick.

it's a mathematical trick of SiRF II chipsets to smoothen out position changes and to utilize weaker signals. It's now obsolete with SiRF III.

If you can , switch it off on your receiver.
