No, it's not as sophisticated as that. It has a library of roads, each with an assigned speed, and it plays with various combinations of these until it has minimised the journey time (or distance, if you choose shortest route). It doesn't store any information about your driving habits, routes you have used before, etc.

It wouldnt take much to add this facility, but then nobody would need to upgrade and TomTom wouldnt like that. |

Surely you would still want up to date mapping??
Dustoff did not mean that he wanted to drive down a road not on the map, and then this would appear the next time. I believe he meant just a function that would allow him his favourite route to a destination.
I could be wrong though. _________________ -------------------------------------------------------

| Why not set up and save an itinerary for the various preferred routes. _________________ Formerly known as Lost_Property

I am prerry certain that TT has taken me on a different route to a destination after I previously ignored a chosen route.
Of course there may be other factors (eg which direction I was facing etc etc) but I have yet to be convinced that TT does not "learn".

Thanks for all the good input. Part of the "adventure" of learning to use a new piece of equipment and all of its' ins and outs along with the science that makes it work is where I find the joy. I will continue to watch, read and learn. Thanks again for a great forum. :P |

Hi dust-off
Yes, I agree with lupos0. By using the Itinerary option you can travel the preferred route that you plot. You can even plan your route using Microsoft Autoroute (if you have it) on your PC and copying it to Tomtom. However, you will need the free small programme ‘ITNconv’ to achieve that but its quite easy. _________________ Tomtom Go 720.
