On my PDA I have a very bespoke TomTom menu also incorporating some of the extra programs I use (OS GPS Convertor and ToolsTools) which has been created using skuX's online menubuilder.

Is there a way of creating a bespoke menu in the Symbian version? If so, what do you do with the TomTom.mnu? Where do you put it?

The bespoke apps won't run on a Symbiam phone without converting them first (different OS and h/w platform)

Thanks for the reply, I wasn't expecting to be able to move the applications, but would love to modify the original TomTom Menu sequence of options

On mine it's on the SD card here:

\SDKRegistry\TomTom.mnu

I also found that TomTom ignored the file if the 'Archive" attribute wasn't set on the file.

Thanks jeff-d, it sounds exactly what I am trying to achieve. I have tried putting my TomTom.mnu into SDKRegistry but it doesn't want to work. I also tried SdkRegistry as it is on my PDA but no difference.

How did you create your .mnu file?

jeff-d

I'm trying to do this on a Nokia 6110 Navigator without a great deal of success, could you give me an example of the contents of your .mnu file, please?

Thanks jeff-d, I had seen this method but had not tried it. I shall commence to play and experiment, knowing that if I delete the file, it will return to the standard menu.

Have you looked at TomTom Menu Designer available from:

www.gregoryduncan.com/ttmd ?

If re-arranging the Tomtom menus is what your after this makes it a lot less laborious.

Thanks for the link, martinloat, I did actually know of it, but when I went to it yesterday the site was down. I was originally trying to use the saved version of the same menu I have on my PDA produced from www.skux.net/tomtom/menubuilder2/index.php with the extra programs removed, but the phone would not read that menu file.

Anyway, although it was a bit long drawn out process, I have now succeeded. One of my main reasons for altering the menu is to get the Exit App on the first screen.

I have since found further commands available at www.opentom.org/Menu_structure if not necessarily for my devices.
