I was made aware of the Color Scheme Editor by Andy_P2002 (thanks Andy_P2002), who replied to a post in this thread.

I like the look of the "uk_os" colour scheme. I’ve checked the FAQ tips on installing the schemes onto a PocketPC running TomTom Navigator 5.10:

Arrow Activate a PLUS account. Via option "Download extra's". Fill in your name (email-address) en password. (Make an account on the TT website first). PDA must have a connection to the internet ! This has to be done, because after that, you get a "PLUG-IN" under the color setttings. yeah out of nowhere.

Arrow After you'va done this, place your colorschems in this map:
# Bought TT new on SD: On the SD card place them in the map: "schemes"
# TT Upgrade installed: With Windows Explorere go to: Mobile Device MY Pocket PC and there is the map schemes. In the root of your device.

I don’t want to activate PLUS yet (as I need to move it over from another PDA). So does anybody know if I can just create a folder on the PocketPC or storage card, and if that is the case where should I create the folder so I can use custom colour schemes?

Regards,

Try rays site, http://www.rayflanagan.co.uk/
I am sure there is a link for messing around with the colours, I tried
it a couple of months ago, I can't check the site as it won't display on the pda, if its not there I think I got at it from the skux menu builder site, will check later, when I did this I hadn't activated plus so, follow the insructions as it does work, there are even pre built schemes tailored to match specific car models - Mike

You can just create the directory (folder) and put the colour scheme maps in there.

see also
http://www.colorschemeeditor.com/index.php?lang=EN

(if the page is in Dutch just hit the USA/UK flag in the top corner of the page.)

There are some colour maps for downloade on that site as well

Where have you been hiding? It's been around for years and I'm sure I've mentioned it many times, I even reviewed it in the magazine earlier this year Smile

As has been said, no need for PLUS, just create the folder.

Sorry, must have missed it. Out of here

OK, so is the name of the folder case sensitive? And where do I place the folder, is it on the PDA or the storage card?

Regards,

Hi,

I am using TT5.0 on an MDA compact and I have tried to put the new schemes on but to no avail.

I have set up a directory in the root of the SD card caller "schemes" and I put a couple of schemes I got from one of the sites quoted above. However when I go to both the daytime and nighttime options I only see the default ones. There is no other options.

Any ideas? Have I missed something?

Regards

If it is definitely on the root of the SD card, then I do not know.

You could try puttting the folder on the root of the PDA. That is where I have got my voices folder and they work from there so maybe it would be the same for the colour scheme.

Connect the PDA to your computer, click on my computer and then mobile device. Put the folder there and see what happens then.

In the daytime or night-time colour menus do you get a large sqaure that is randomly coloured with 'Plug-in Scheme' written underneath? If so, select this and you will get another menu with your own colour schemes listed.

Have you named the files in the schemes folder xxxx.clr (where xxxx is any name you want)
