Help with getting a gps signal on my ipaq 1710 with tom tom

Hi all !!!!

I have recently purchased a HP Ipaq 1710 with the viamichelin gps software on. The system was running fine but i couldnd download the speed camera database.

So my mate has uninstalled the software/maps amd installed TOM TOM. The new tom tom loads up fine but i cant get a signal from the in car cradel. There is a blue light that usually came on with the viamichelin gps but it doesnt come on now.

Am wondering if the old software had a driver that i needed to connect to the gps that has nw been deleted. I know the TOM TOM software is fine because it works on his pda.

Any ideas why i cant get no signal ???
