medion md959500 active sync

I used to be able to conect to my pc as a guest using active sync, how ever I have done a hard reset on my medion gps unit and now it will not go past connecting in the active sync dialog box. The pc has recognised the gps because it is listed in the device manager wilst it is trying to connect but it will not go to connected has any one got any ideas.
