Hi,

I am having a bit of a problem with my TOM TOM on my Nokia 3230.

When ever I make or receive a call with TOM TOM switched off. TOM TOM automatically switches on.

If I have phoned a number that requires you to pick numbered options (call centres, etc), because TOM TOM has auto booted when you press a number for the option, it either zooms the map, increases/decrease volume. But it will not send the tone dial to select the option!!

I can't even listen to my answerphone messages as I can't key any numbered options!

HELP!

p.s. Other than that TOM TOM mobile has been a revelation, especially with the POI warners and the camera database!

Glad to see someone else using it on the 3230. I don't have this problem, but can I ask what sort of battery life you are getting while TomTom is running?

I'm wondering if I've got a duff battery you see Confused

Hi,

I exit TOM TOM by using the "hang up" button.

In regards to battery life, it is running off the cigarette lighter all the time!
But I have noticed that if I do not switch off the blutooth connection manually, I only get about 12 hours standby time max and about 6 hours if I have a few calls/texts etc!

Even with the bluetooth switched off and TOM TOM, I don't even get 24 hours standby.

I have also had a replacement battery under warranty, but the life is exactly the same.

Seems to eat batteries!

pressing the hangup key is not shutting down tomtom

tom tom is running in the back ground and eating batteries

press the keys 6 6 5 to exit tomtom or what ever you use on nokias
you should find if you are using tomtom's bt reciever it will switch of after two or three mins after you exit tom tom properley

It was the fact I was using the option of always having the backlight on which killed my batteries. The is an option of only using the backlight when being charged (ie in the car rather than walking etc) and this has doubled, possibly tripled the battery life even keeping the bluetooth and TT5 running.

Worth a try!

One of the reasons I went for the mobile option as opposed to pocket pc was that I hoped to be able to use it while walking around unfamiliar towns. It's easy to get lost.

However the battery life has meant that isn't really possible, I realistically need it to be able to last about 6-8 hours without needing a charge, instead it runs out of power after about 60-90 minutes, meaning I can only afford to start it up for very short periods, meaning I have to wait for the GPS to lock on. Not ideal Confused
