Just a thought to reduce the heat build up on these devices, does anyone know if it is possible to lower the processor clock speed, and if so will TT5,1 still work in a usable fashion? I am thinkg along the lines of forcing it run in QVGA which will lower the processors workload (to 25% of what it is trying to do at the moment) and want to try a clock speed of 400MHz instead of the 624MHz it currently uses - any thoughts - Cheers

OK I have found the software I need for altering the clock speed so over the next week I aim to thermocouple the 4700, and run the same trip taking a datalogged temperature log on the laptop, run 1 - TT3, second run 5,1 full VGA, 3rd TT5,1 QVGA, and finally TT5,1 QVGA with the speed throttled back, will put the holder and PDA in the cooler box to try and keep the conditions the same, so if it does drop the temperature of the device I will post further info either way - Mike
