hello all! I'm a newbie here so forgive me if the problem below is a common one & just haven't found it on the forum!
Right, I recently purchased an Axim X50v, TTN 5 and a BT308 receiver, I travel a great deal in Europe and the US so also purchased these extra regions.
So, I loaded TTN 5.0, the GB maps plus the hawaii maps onto my SD card. Now, just to explain, I loaded the GB maps via the set-up>card reader route and the US maps by expanding the ZIP file and loading the Hawaii map via a reader.
TTN 5.0 crashed relentlessly and TomTom advised upgrading the software to 5.1, which I did after a hard reset just to be sure.
The GB map and Hawaii map were then downloaded as before.
Now TTN 5.1 works really well, no freezes or crashes but try what I will I cannot see the US maps, they are in the same directory as the GB maps and I've just downloaded the Scandanavia maps via set-up and they can be seen without a problem.
Has anybody got an idea of what is happening (or not happening!) here?
One other quirk, TTN seems to loose the GPS signal for a while even though the BT 308 indicates a fix and BT activity. I am using the nmea cable connection option from TTN.
Thanks in advance to anybody who can shed some light on these problems! |

TTN 5.1 will no longer read v4 maps. You need to upgrade to the v5 US maps, or need to go back down to 5.0 _________________ Lutz

So I have a choice of running software that crashes or buying new maps? Thats not much of a choice!
Why will 5.1 not read the V4.0 maps and how can I tell if the maps are 4.0?
Thanks! |

Go ask TomTom - when we asked them that question they told us they want to sell more maps. Needless to say we didn't like that answer.
You can tell the map version by looking at the last line in the PNA file. yours probably says 362, the new version is 567. _________________ Lutz

the maps are 566. Is there anyway of making 5.1 think its reading a V5 map? |
