Hi,

Has anyone got Navicore for the UK yet? Idealy for the 9500/9300?

I am seriously interested in getting Navicore instead of TomTom Mobile 5 for the 9500 because a) It's not out yet on TomTom, b)TomTom support is really starting to drop off,

I do have a few questions first:

Can I create a GPS log of a journey? I have this feature on TT Navigator 3 and would love to keep it, (not even sure if TT Mobile 5 has it)

How easy is it to add POI's? Mainly can I use the Speed Camera (Sorry Safety Camera) POI's from here? Do they need converting first?

Does the Navicore have a proximity warning for POI's? I don't want to keep looking at the screen for camera's,

How accurate are the maps? Are they the latest versions?

Why is the 9500/9300 version £50 more expensive?

Carl,

First impressions, using this on a 6680 - WOW so easy to use, such quick start up.

I'm running Navicore on a 6600 and P910i. Love it on the 6600, makes use of a very intuitive cursor controlled menu system.

Not so enamoured of it on the P910. Control is not so well implemented.

If I had a Smartphone I'd go for Navicore, but for the P910 TomTom is better in my opinion.

I've ordered my navicore .. will post here when I've had time to test it out.

For full postcode on Navicore you should be able to get a UK Postcode OV2 file from somewhere and convert it for Navicore, they provide a free tool which should be able to import OV2 format I believe...

Can't remember where the UK Postcode OV2 can be downloaded but definately saw them on a site sometime ago...

Just checked out the site properly and the files aren't available to download anymore. I've found uk postcode OV2 files for TomTom go on POISoft website but they aren't free. Does anybody know if these TomTom Go files will work with Navicore when converted?

I have now bought the OV2 Postcode files from poisoft.co.uk , I am able to convert them successfully with the Navicore POI tool as 1 file combining all together or as individual POI's as they are in OV2 format.

Problem I have now is on the phone side, anyone who's got Navicore and been converting OV2 files will know what I'm talking about. Apart from a few smaller files most of the converted postcode files cause a memory out error on my NOkia 6680 I think i manged to get the first 3 smallest POI files installed after that. So no chance of getting the one combined file installed it seems.

If anyone goes down this route and manages to get the postcode nce files all sucessfuuly installed in Navicore individually or as one single POI category please let me know.....
