|
|
Ive got a Mio 168 Pocket PC
Ive got Tom Tom Navigator 5.0 Installed on it.
Im going on a trip to Spain And France
And Ive got the maps on a 1gig SD card.
Im worried that if the PDA needs a reset, that I wont be able to reinstall Tom Tom software. (As I wont have access to a LAPTOP or PC)
Is it possible to create a SD card that can install the software?
that I can insert and install Tom Tom off back on to PDA?
(I have a spare 512meg card)?
Many thanks.

Hi dspa1,
to the forum!
I recommend that you purchase a copy of Sprite Backup. The latest version is 3.1.4 for the PocketPC.
Once installed and a backup taken, you don’t need a PC to restore. You just run a self-executable restore file from the storage card.

Im not to GPS and PDAs so please, ignore my ignorance
So this sprite backup will restore the PDA back to before the power
loss?? All software and configuration files installed before?
Ebackup, seems to backup mail/tasks/calendar etc.
and something called user apllications??? does this do the same thing? |

Use apps would cover it; and from what I've read elsewhere, the Mio 168's ebackup does the trick. Though I admit (touch wood) I havent had to use it. |

I guess the only way to know is to try it!!!
Ive done two backups on two different cards, so hopefully there, firstly
wont be a problem secondly, at least one of the backup cards will work.
(all I need now is to back up the map card (1gig) ). Which I can do
with a direct copy from Card Reader to another Card. |
