Perhaps this is obvious, but I don't understand why you need an angle setting. The way that I think the TT Warn when near POI works is that if I set up a route and have it alert me when within 1000 yards of a satety camera, it will examine the route ahead, and this is done regardles of how many twists and turns there are, so it could in fact be warning me about a camera that is behind me if I am taking a U shaped route.

I understand that the safety camera position might not be exactly on the road and therefore it needs to look witin a certain range to the side of the road. So why the setting for angle in CheckPOInt? Does it not know what route I am going to take and therefore can only pedict it based on the direction I'm heading in plus a certain angle either way?

This isn't a criticism of CP, I'm just interested to know the reason why it works the way it does.

TIA

imagine you have a safety cam on a road that's parallel to the one you are traveling on. You don't want to know about that camera, and the angle setting helps you to focus your search on your current road. CP has no idea of a route you may or may not be following, it only looks at the coordinates.

Ah, so although CP is integrated into TT, it isn't accessing the planned route information. In that case I would expect quite a lot of false alerts, particularly in the scenario you gave where there is a camera on a parallel road, because from the 30 seonds distance 25 degrees would give a fairly wide spread (I can't be bothered to the the trig to work it out Smile )
