Hi all,

I am sure this has been discussed before and I have tried searching for it but... I have a couple of questions regarding TomTom 5 and Poiwarner:-

I do not get a waning bar up the side when approaching a POI, I have read in another forum that this is correct for the latest version, can anyone confirm this or do I have a problem?.

I get the sounds OK from POIWarner but see no icons on the screen when approaching a POI, TomTom 5's built in warner shows the speed/camera icon when approached and I have taken the POIWarner option because TomTom runs incredibly slowly when POI's are activated and does not warn enough when only used for "Warn when on route". A workaround I think is to use the "Warn when on route" but assign a blank sound to the warning....does anyone know of a Datachk file that includes a "Blank" message?.

Thanks in advance

Try this link for the silent directions but still getting the POI warnings
http://www.rayflanagan.co.uk/silent.html
Its worth trying some of the voice skins as well - the Liz voice is far better than even Jane - Mike

Mike,

Thanks for the reply! it is not quite what I require however. What i'm after is a replacement file for the beeps clangs and moo's for one that contains a silent alert!. The reason for this is that I do not see the POI's icons for the safety cameras on the screen anymore since taking the "Warn when on route" option off on TomTom. For some reason they do not appear on POIWarner, so what I thought is that if I turn on the "Warn when on route" option in TomTom but assign a blank "Noise" the POIWarner will do the alert but TomTom will show the camera icon.

I hope this makes sense!

Have you Activated the files in both Acoustic Alert and Overlay Settings with the POI-Warner utility, every different poi file has to be configured in both of those menus to work.

Click the link to my site at the bottom of this post, have a look to see what you should do to activate the poi's.

I shall try both the above! (one at a time of course!) and see which best suits.

Thankyou to you both!.
