microsoft autorute express and tomtom

I have autoroute express 2000 on my desktop and just bought tomtom rider for my bike. can i plan routes from my desktop. (much easier than using the tomtom) and then transfer the routes onto the tomtom? would it recognise the maps fropm the desktop and if not, is there a way of converting the programmes from the desktop to be read by the tomtom rider prior to download?

Have a moderate amount of technical knowledge but not fantastic so please keep it simple, if poss. Cheers

Never done it myself, but if you use the search button and type itinerary and Autoroute you'll get a goldmine full.
