I have tried to place the following question on the TOMTOM site. If TOMTOM monitor this forum, I have to say there are problems with the site. Having logged in, reached a contact us link, and entered my question, I get a message that the email box needs to be entered. Well, since I am logged in my email address should be known, and, anyway, there isn't an email box. Also, when I go to My Questions (thinking I might be able to append my query to a previous question), the website goes into some sort of loop. Not impressive!
As a comment to pocketgpsworld. I am a registered user. Normally I simply follow the excellent forums as a guest. So today, when I need to ask a question, I need to actually login. Which means remembering my nickname, which, of course, I had stupidly forgotten! Well it seems there is no way round it. If I know my nickname, I can get my password. If I try to re-register, the sytem is smart enough to realise I am already known from my email address, so I am rejected. Fortunately I eventually guessed my nickname. Sorry to be such a complete idiot, but given that I am, maybe I should be able to enter my email address and get my registration details (nickname & password) forwarded to me.
My question is:
Does Software & Western Europe maps contain the UK in the same detail as Nav 5 with BT GPS on an SD card?
I have the possibility to buy Nav 3 with licence secondhand. I understand that owners of Nav 3 had the opportunity to buy Nav 5 & maps of Western Europe at a special upgrade price. Can you tell me the upgrade price, does it still exist, and would it apply to a second owner?
As long as it is a legal copy of tt3, you should have no problems upgrading. The price is 69 euros from the tomtom website and you will require the product code of tt3. Should take about a week to deliver and then just install. The advantage is, more recent maps (even though there is still some updating to do on that score)
