Definitive Software List for Globalsat BT 338 - PPC & Pa

Hi guys this question may have been asked before but here goes.

I recently got myself the abovementioned. I am now deciding on a Palm or a PocketPC to use together with it for in car navigation.

What software should I be using for GREAT North American navigation esp Canada. I would appreciate it if someone could tell me whats available for PPC and whats available for Palm, exact names would help lots. I contacted Garmin and according to them they do not make standalone software like what I need.. I dunt know if thats true I just got an idiot to email me back.
