|
|
Hi all - I am really concerned about the performance of my nav 510. I struggle to get a satellite fix -anywhere from 2 to 30 mins. Last week I could not get a fix at all after trying all day. Another problem which has recently appeared is that my nav is taking me down different routes to which it used to (I have not changed settings). A further problem is the routing is sometimes taking me completely the wrong way. Last week for example I planned a route from Peterlee (Co Durham) to Evenwod (Co Durham) this took me just about in a circle.. down the A19 to the 690 then through to Durham to pick up the A1 all the way down the A1 the scotch corner turn off. I did ring navman twice and was advised.
1- re-set the unit and wait 15 mins before switching on and
2- they advised that a "chip" might have gone on it?
I am really concerned because my 1 year guarentee runs out in October. Can someone please advise on what to do. I have installed SP1 -could this be the problem. If it is, will it be be okay for me to wait for V4 softwre and will this cure my problem or should I be looking to send my unit back while under warranty.
PS when will the new V4 software available? |

Not an answer to your question, so apologies, but I'm getting the same problem.
No GPS fix now for nearly two weeks (well, on the odd occassion, it gets one, and drops it in 5 seconds)
However, Navman are saying my warranty is invalid as even though the unit is less than a year old (manufacturing date 2005.1), as I bought it one month old from someone, its not covered as its second hand! (will be posting about this myself)
So if you get an answer to this, I'd be very interested to hear the outcome. |

I would say the best advice is to return it for a warranty repair.
V4 is not due to be released until late next year. _________________ Ian.

I have sent my unit back to Navman - cost £7.00, lets hope its worth it. It really was acting up - dodgy sat fix and completely inappropriate routing. I did send several emails to Navman and they have failed to reply to any -I hope that their customer service returns team deals with my returned unit more professionally - anyone any experiences they would care to share? |
