Could someone point me in the direction of wheres best to find some OS maps for the Lakes as i fancy using th gps when i do a bit of hill walking

Hi webmonkeyuk,

Do you know which topographical software (Memory-Map, Anquet, Fugawi, OziExplorer, etc) you wish to use? If you don’t, have a look at the PocketGPSWorld topographical software review.

I use (and I’m happy with) Memory-Map with the 1:50,000 Landranger style maps. However for walking, you’d probably be happier with 1:25,000 scale maps. I believe most of the topographical software packages have 1:25,000 maps that can be bought.

Once you’ve decided on the topographical software you wish to use, have a look at any of the retailers who advertise on the right hand side of this forum.
