splash screens

Could anyone explain how i could make some splash screens for the tomtom, what program to use etc etc

Just create a image 320 x 240 pixels, then when finished rotate 90 degrees clockwise, save as splash.bmp and upload to root of tomtom. (Remember to back up original splash.bmp first though!)

I use Macromedia Fireworks, but any decent image editing prog will do.
