My first post, so be kind
I have a problem with my GPS in my Citreon C5 car........ it works intermitantly in the car but seems OK outside the car, i.e it loosesGPS signal.
The car does NOT have a front heated windscreen but does have an auto lights and wiper sensor behind the rear view mirror, is this a problem?
My spec is...
Nokia 7610
128 MMC card
TomTom 5 software
BT Ver1.0 GPS unit
Any advise appreciated.
Thanks |

The windscreen may not be heated, but it is most probably coated (a thin metallic layer to filter the sun energy out) - this will cause your reception issues. Can you place the receiver somewhere else, for example on the rear shelf? _________________ Lutz

Or try the receiver tucked into the bottom corners of the windscreen, these are normally missed by the heated (realise yours isn't!) or heat reflective bits. Check your car handbook for comments on GPS receiving as a friend's citroen (MPV thingy?) states that the area around the rear view mirror is specifically GPS transparent to allow receivers to be mounted there. |

Thanks guys
Mounted the GPS unit on the parcel shelf, seems to work fine now (just a pain having to remove it and turn it off though ) !
