Hi all,

I'm a basic user at mo still trying to find my way around TTN5 after upgrading from TTN3 but after spending many a happy hour putting in my "favourites" imagine my horror to discover they've all disappeared......even my home address!!! (luckily I remember that one!)
so;
1) Is this a common problem?
2) If so, can it be fixed?
3) Would it be better storing them as a POI?
4) If so, how do I do that?
5) Do i need a picture/icon to show POI etc?
Any advice greatly appreciated but please keep it basic. Newbie here....
Thanks
Garry

1. unfortunately yes
2. exit the program before you soft reset the Pocket PC
3. yes
4. create your own category ("Mine" or such) then add POI...Address or point on map
5. an icon will be created for you, but you can then change it towhatever you want. Should be 256 colors max though.

There are two threads which might help you, here and here.

Personally I save Favourites as a POI group as I can do a Backup by just copying the POI to the PC.

To create a POI category, goto Manage POI in Preferences. Then Select Add POI Category. Give it a name, I called my Fav, and then choose an image from those selected.

Then use Add as POI, choosing Fav as Category, instead of Add as Favourite.

If you want to change the .bmp file afterwards you can use any image, but remember it has to be no larger than 22 x 22 pixels, (and a BMP).
