How come so many retailers seem to sell SD cards but not SD/wifi cards?
Even Sandisk has taken their's off their e-store.

Is it a product that's not working or is there a better way?

I'm looking at a Garmin M3 + SD card and I thought maybe an SDIO with wifi might be handy (booking hotel's checking email etc..).

Any experiences here?

The problem with those cards is that they block the SD card slot, and you can't add memory any more (which is essential). Also, they protrude quite a bit, and can easily get damaged (SD slots don't have a lock, so they can even fall out quickly).

Another reason is that most of the time the drivers are sub standard, so you don't get too much of a throughput (noticeable with Skype etc). Integrated WiFi tends to have better performance.

You can use the SD WiFi cards for occasional activities, but they're no good for permanent "always connected" use

That's why I can't understand why more companies don't make the memory/wifi combo cards like sandisk, but even these are discontinued I think.

Anyone tried this Wi-Fi card? It doesn't have onboard memory but I've seen a few good reviews. Anyone know if it will work with a Mio 168?
