GPS Nav... Mapless but pure GPS Nav for PPC (hiking)

I have TomTom 5 and I love the new feature where if you mark your current position as a fave which is off the map. Then you set it to navigate to it, the little compos will show you the direction and distance to the marked location.

I believe thats more of a feature that you get from mapless GPS units that hikers use.

Question is I like to have something like that for my PDA and BT GPS for when I go walking off road. Give me stats like distance and speed, route walked, electronic breadcrumbs, etc.

Any free/cheap applications out the for PocketPC OS?

I've looked but can't find anything.
