question for those with permanent docking kit installed

Hi there,

I succesfully installed the permanent docking kit in my Ford Capri today. Even though the Capri still has the original stereo, it was quite easy to install the docking kit with a additional female and male ISO-to-blank-wires connectors.

It works great, and the directions sound very clear through my car speakers. NOT so the sound of my Nokia 6230, connected to my TomTom 500 via bluetooth. Unlike the sound of the directions, most of the phone sound still comes from the TomTom unit itself, with only very soft distorted sound coming from the speakers. I don't understand why the directions work great, when the phone does not.

Has anyone with the permanent docking kit installed experienced the same?

I read somewhere in these forums that using an external microphone might improve the sound -could that be the case here, too?

Oops I just saw that onezone posted this very same issue only a little while ago. Apologies (good to know I'm not the only one who is disappointed with the lack of phone sound though).
