Hi, I have a Navman ICN650 cunningly disguised as a Sony NVXP1. Recently I spotted Halfords were selling off some external antennas for their Navsure brand of Sat Navs, for a quid. I am sure my device needs a MCX plug to connect an antenna whereas the Navsure device appears to be the smaller MMCX.
Has anyone found an adaptor or is it fairly easy to change the plug? Or should I just buy the proper thing! Main reason for the external antenna is that it takes a while to get a fix in the wife's Megane an I thought it may help to get a fix if trying to sort out routes indoors. Any help gratefully received.

each adapter adds to the attenuation. If possible get the real thing.

Also an adapter may cost as much as the antenna (not the one quid, but normal cost).

Yes, I think you are right, it is probably as cheap to buy a complete antenna with the correct plug. Just have to keep this one for a future gps unit. Thanks for the replies.
