airport x-ray

is there any danger with putting my tom tom 700 through an airport x-ray machine.will it affect the hard disc

No - laptops go through by the thousand without a problem.

The instructions for my Medion state that you should pass the machine through the x-ray machine and not through the magnetic detector and avoide the magnetic wand.

I have taken mine abroad many times and I always place it in/with the hand luggage and there has never been a problem when it has gone through.
