Smile
I have an interesting accident blackspot a la Road Angel. It seems to cover some camera's site but also some site where there is no camera. Anyone else have one like this it's seems to be good have just tried it around the North East over the last few days.

I think that an accident blackspot database would be a 'real' contribution to road safety, rather than the current 'cash cows' purporting to be so.

A bit off topic, but if you saw Top Gear the other day, regions where there are speed - sorry safety cameras, are experiencing an increase in fatalities, where regions without them are experiencing a drop in fatalities! Is this manslaughter?

I have said many times that anything which distracts a driver from taking notice of what is going on in their perifery, can only result in increased accidents. But knowing where real accidents (not those of people running into the backs of those breaking suddenly when they see a camera) happen alerts the driver to be especially observent - I can't see how anyone can take this as anything other than a brilliant suggestion.

Hopefully, the implementaton will be easy.

You must have read my mind ... on a trip in Wales recently, I went past 2 sites where flowers had been left at the side of the road.... obviously the site of a fatal accident. One of these sites is notorious (locally) as a particularly risky bend... but absolutely no indication at the site to warn others... Id love to give it a try... I'll send you a pm with my address Smile

Cheers

Sounds a great idea - I'd love a copy, esp as I seem to live in the middle of a veritable web of dangerous roads (Colne, Lancs). you have pm!

Cheers,

Steve
