Hi, I hope someone can help me, i have a palm t3, and have recently upgraded to tt5, i seem to have a problem every now and then which is when i switch on tt5 it just sits there (Forever) with a message at the bottom of the screen saying "no gps device" I'm using a holux cr100, gps reciever which is working correctly, even when i carryout a soft and hard reset it doesn't cure the problem, the problem will suddenly dissappear as quickly as it appeared. sometimes it takes 5 minutes but usually it takes hours to correct itself.
Any help would be appreciated as this is really annoying.

andy, no there are very few settings, adjustments that can be made, there's certainly nothing to do with beam.

Forgot to mention my mate has exactly the same setup as me, and he also has the same problem, so i guess its a software problem and not hardware. I think?

Faulty logic - if you and your friend have the same setup and the same problem, and thousands of other people don't - the software is fine - it is the setup you share with your friend that is the likely problem.

I purchased tt3 wirted plus Hp2210 last year. I have had no problems until upgrading to tt5 a month ago getting the "No GPS Device" message. I have wasted loads of time trying to get a satallite fix. TT help desk have not been helpful other than a curt "New software will be available in a couple of weeks". In the meantime I reloaded tt3 and established contact within 15 minutes. Therefore no problems with my system.
Last week I got a phone call from tt telling me that they had sold over 80,000 upgrades and had few problems !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and that new software 5.1 was available. I have loaded this in but still get the "No GPS Device" message. I am still waiting for a TT response to my latest complaint.
Any views or advice ?

sandgrounder, it seems as if you have the same problem as myself and my friend, and your problem only confirms that this problem is not isolated to palm, as you are using pocket pc. hopefully someone will realise this is indeed a problem/bug and a fix will be found for it, i'm the meantime i don't think there's much you can do about it.

I HAD EXACTLY THE SAME PROBLEM WITH A 2210 AND HOLUX GR230 AFTER UPGRADING TO TT5 - MESSAGE WAS "NO GPS".

I THEN BOUGHT THE TT GPS AND IT WORKS FINE FIRST TIME EVERY TIME - BUT HAD TO SPEND EXTRA £100+ POUNDS

Just setup 5.1 on a HP PDA with Tomtom wired GPS. It would not get a gps fix (no device detected).
I then set it to use (other wired receiver, using com1) and it now works fine, even thought it is an offical tomtom wired unit!!
I think I read this on here sometime ago, worth a try anyway.
