Just how accurate is the mph speed reading generated by TTM? Is the accuarcy effected by type of receiver used (I'm using a BT77) or coverage?

I know very few car speedo's are 100% accurate, but sometimes the difference in readings can be as much as 10mph. At other times is seems quite spot on.

Thanks.

Your GPS speed reading is likely to be more accurate than your car speedo which is likely to be out by +/-10%.

I would say that ttm speed reading is very accurate,it is your car speedo that is out.
I am saying this because i am a hgv driver and my wagon has just been in for its 2 yearly tachograph and speedo check, which by law has to be spot on.
when travelling now i cannot see any difference in the speeds shown both on the needle and display of ttm.
I am using the original ttm silver receiver.

Tomtom's speed is usually about 5mph slower than my car speedo, so my speedo probably shows the speed as 5mph faster that it actually is.

It's no wonder I've never had a speedy ticket. Laughing

The UK requires a speedo to be accurate or 'fast' -0%, +10% at 30 mph.

My car has an LCD speedo display - the TT measurement mirrors it almost exactly.
