|

I just purchased the aData 2 GB Secure Digital card (150x). As of July 2005, it will NOT work in the Garmin iQue M5, the Garmin iQue 3600 or in my Treo650 (which is Palm Os based). The devices offer to format the card, but do not recognize it afterward. Actually, the 3600 just says that it cannot recognize the card.
The card works fine in my USB memory card reader attached to my PC.
Does anyone have any other experience with 2 GB cards in the Garmin iQue units? I sent an email to Garmin support on this topic, and never received a response from them.
Thanks. |

Some cards and card readers do not get on well with each other, if you place the 2GB card in your PDA or whatever and then copy and paste a file to it that way it will most probable work, I know it takes for ever to transfer things that way but it usually works.
If you can connect via ActiveSync then just try a small file and then see if your unit can see it.
I have several Lexar cards, and two different card readers, some will work ok and some wan't (have to revert to the ActiveSync route), but that's life! |

Actually, when I place a file on the card from my USB reader, the Garmin device and the Treo 650 immediately ask if I want to format the card because it does not recognize the format. If I format the card in either PDA device, it still is not recognized, but then when I put it back in my PC's card reader, my PC wants to format the card again.
It seems that either the 2 GB size is exceeding a size barrier or is just not compatible for whatever reason. I've been told that 2 GB is the current size limitation for the Treo 650, but I'm not sure what the size limit is for the Garmin. I have another 1 GB card that works fine in all 3 devices devices. |

One more thing, obviously, if anyone knows of a 2 GB card working in any of these devices from first hand experience, it would be very valuable information here. Thanks. |

Check the Kingston memory website, it will tell you what is the maximum allowed in a PC, PDA or camara, the Garmin ique M5 is quoted as 1Gb. |
