Hi
Have just read the article on the news page from the BBC, on the benefits of GPS.
I am hot footing it today to Makro to buy a BlueMedia BM6300, which seems to get pretty good reviews.
There are two bundles, a UK and NI one(with Speed Camera Locations) and one that includes Europe.
One of my reasons for the purchase is we are off to Portugal in a couple ow weeks and I wanted to use it there, however the article says only 40% of Portugal is mapped, does anyone know if that inludes the Algarve, particularly around Vilamoura ?
I think the software is Destinator.
Anyone any experience of using in Algarve, or can help at all, would be much appreciated.

I have TomTom 5 and CoPilot 5, and the mapping of each is very rudimentary in the Algarve.

Plus a lot of other PDA GPS kit, seldom used
I use a acer n35 with destinator 3, i think i can help.
There are some few new roads that the destinator 3 doesnīt have because the maps he brings were builted in 2003/2004.
Algarve have a king of high road that cross all the territory named "Via do Infante" (Lord Road). that dontīt exists in destinator 3 at least all of it, because it was finished in 2005.
The old road N125 (nacional road nš125) the one destinator indicate that cross Algrave, now its only used by trucks and some local users.
The hi road that goes from Lisbon to Algarve its already(2005 too) Finished, but i donīt think that will bring problems to you, it very simple to find your way to Algarve from Lisbon, just strait ahead 250km.
I never used gps in Vila Moura so i canīt tell you, about that, but is almost impossible to loose yourself in Vila Moura, its a very simple town.
Iīm sorry for my english but its a little bit rusty
