a quick search on the certain P2P applications should find a TomTom Go download - I have used this fine on TTNav and also found the voice files to be slightly better quality than the yoda downloaded from the link found on this thread |

Can you detail how you did this? Thanks! |

absolute doddle
goto google images, look for the image. re-size it to 90x90 ish and call it the name of the file your applying it to, data60 for example. you MUST save the picture as a bitmap file.
i made my own pictures for everything except the robot one. waste of time anyway.

your not thinking about this right.
here is the deal, IF and only if there is no picture with one of your add on voices then tomtom defaults to it's "special" picture. so as soon as you have a picture corrosponding to the voice then it automatically shows that picture instead of the tomtom special one.
for example
homer simpson file is called:-
DATA02.CHK
vs-dohnut.vif
this is the common one kicking about so we'll use that as an example.
because this is called data02.chk this means it will overwrite the one currently in tomtom and i didn't want that as who knows what it might delete. might be one of the UK voices for example which we want to keep.
now all you do is rename the files to something not currently used. this can be data65.chk right upto whatever you want. i have mine at data108.chk so you shouldn't run out.
so, rename data02.chk to data65.chk and rename vs-dohnut.vif to data65.vif.
now we have homers voice. if you put that into tomtom you would get a "special" picture for his voice.
soooooo, all you do is goto google images or whatever, find an image of homer and save that as data65. it MUST, MUST be saved as a bitmap or no worky. now assuming the picture is more than 90x90 pixels or there abouts you need to make it 90x90 pixels, so use a photo editor (all the good ones do this) and re-size it.
now simply drag the
data65.chk
data65.vir
data65
files into your voices folder. ehh wala. job done.

OK everyone, I need advice on the above. I'm awaiting delivery of my first GPS kit with TT5 installed, and I have just downloaded the voice packs of Yoda & Vader.
Question. Where do the .chq and .vif files go and how do you select the voices _________________ Pirate! |

Just create a folder on your memory card (where the map is stored) called "Voices" and put the files in there.
To change the voices, it is just an option in Preferences.
