I now have data for over 2000 bridges.
If you email me at robin@willow-house.co.uk indicating the height of your vehicle/trailer I can send you a POI for low bridges suitable for TomTom (.ov2)
If you need data for a different GPS then try http://rjdavies.users.btopenworld.com/html/poiconverter.html
I also send updates as new versions with corrections/amendments/additiopns are available.
Any missing (or incorrect) bridge information gratefully received. 8) _________________ XL Series-30 Western Europe

Hi Robin,
Excellent work! Especially as my copy of the 2005 Trucker’s Atlas only lists 1,600 bridges! 8O
Do you want details of all bridges on all public roads?
Or are you just interested in motorways and trunk roads?

Well I don't think there's that many in it
I'm including any bridge info I can, so if you're offering bridge info just keep it coming. _________________ XL Series-30 Western Europe

RobinWalton has sent me his latest Low Bridge update, but when i try to open the .ov2 or .csv file i just get a warning from PoiEdit.exe saying -
'An error occured in the application:'
'Invalid ov2 file.'
I cannot open, convert or get this file to run on TTM, does anyone know what is happening.
Thanks. |

I think the problem may be due to the name lengths which are longer in this version. I am not having any problems on my TomTom Go other than some very long names are chopped off. Apparently if you save the opened file as ov2 it then works. I'm using makeov2 rather than POIEdit so was not aware of the problem.
I shall create a new version with shorter names, but I'm not sure when.
In the meantime I'll send out version 3. Please ask again if you don't have that version. _________________ XL Series-30 Western Europe

The problem was commas in the name. makeov2 quite happily creates a useable (on TomTom Go at least) ov2 file which POIEdit can't read. I'm in the process of producing version 5 which avoids this problem. I now have POIEdit installed so hopefully can avoid this problem in the future too. _________________ XL Series-30 Western Europe

Sorry y'all, I've got out of sync and don't know to whom I've sent this version. Could anyone who hasn't received one, or wants different heights, please send me a new e-mail indicating the height(s) they require. I'm naming the files with the highest bridge it contains so that if you drive a 10'2 vehicle you need the 10'2 file. Please include the word bridge in the subject or I might miss it. _________________ XL Series-30 Western Europe

The update 5 I sent out has the longitude and latitude back to front.
Many thanks to Colin Padwick for identifying this error
I can't check my TomTom at the moment as I've lost my USB cable.
I wonder if it's only a problem with Navigator 3.
I now have a corrected version 5, but it will take me a while to send it out as I'm working all hours at present.
Please be patient, but if you do email me please include the word bridge in the subject, or my email filter may destroy it! _________________ XL Series-30 Western Europe

I have now sent the corrected version 5 to everyone who wants a PoI file.
I have received a couple of rejections from servers(?) which are rejecting .ov2 file attachments as potential viruses.
If anyone has not received an update, could they check if .ov2 attachments are allowed, and let me when they can receive .ov2 file attachments.
The blocking has been done by http://spamblock.outblaze.com/mi3_potential_virus_extension_ov2
in both cases.

Please, please, please put in the subject
the word bridge,
the height of the trailer(s) you want files for,
the platform you run on.
Thanks.
